Warrior Code

Although the REAL Warrior Code won't be what I write down here, this is basically all of the site rules alongside the clan rules, mixed in a melange of rules. Email me if you think one of the rules should be changed or another should be added, but please be nice about it. :)

Rule 1: You  may have relationships with cats from outside of IceClan, or even with the ??? Wolf Pack, but never let your feelings get in the way of loyalty to your group.

This is a slightly altered rule of the actual mainstream series, but its here to stir up drama and to keep the romance under control. Examples of breaking this rule would be inappropriate contact, fleeing your groups to live together IF you're betraying your clan in the process, and interfering if your mate/love interest is about to be killed or injured by one of your friends/family. In this roleplay, you are supposed to choose fidelity over love, but of course, that has been broken before in IceClan's world and the world of the major Clans...

Rule 2: If another player is on a temporary ban from the roleplay, arguing with Froststar or another moderator, etc, its NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

This is to prevent the moderators having to deal with several problems at once, and to keep things moving. If, say, Player A is arguing with Froststar about Rule One, then if you take sides, I'm sorry, but you're making the problem worse. However, if things get so serious that we do ask neutral roleplayers to do something, you may break this rule.

Rule 3: Keep all violence, gore, sickness, romance, ANYTHING, at a PG to PG-13 level.

That means no excessive blood, no snapping necks, no eating flesh, no inappropriate contact or detailed deaths (kits come out of nowhere in this world because of younger players in the RP), and when you are giving birth to kits, just have everything go black for every single cat in the proximity, please.

Rule 4: Any cat, wolf or other creature whatsoever has to ask for permission before any killing or severe maiming.

There are actually several rules in this rule, since its a crucial one to keeping everything under control. One thing is that some scratches or nicks or minor wounds are fine to do without asking first, as long as there aren't too many you make. (You CANNOT, however, add "No Nothing" or "No Miss", that's powerplaying and godmodding rolled in one.) Ripping any organ or amount of flesh out, however, is strictly prohibited since its unrealistic and really breaks Rule 3 and rule 4 at the same time. Asking for permission is like, when you initiate a battle with other cats/wolves, then you have to go like (Hey, Player B, can I rake Example 1's claws over Example 2's leg and leave a scar?) before you do it. I know it does halt the flow of the RP, but its necessary to keep things fair for everyone. :) Also, please direct it at the person you're asking, because I can't control other people. XD

Rule 5: Every deputy has to be handpicked by the leader of the group they choose to enter, with enough experience and understanding of the Warrior Code, the group's traditions and how they fight honorably before they can become the lieutenant of the group. They must be chosen by moonhigh the day that the former deputy is retired, dies, goes missing for too long, etc.

Actually, since I'm probably not going to leave this blog, the deputy doesn't have much role besides being a moderator (with access behind the scenes), showing new cats around the site, and being an ACTIVE roleplayer. But still, I'll add something right here: Do NOT beg to be the deputy or the deputy's apprentice, that makes you look bad and doesn't really add up. Besides, if I were pestering you to become deputy, would you pick me?

Rule 6: No cat/wolf may neglect a kit/pup in danger, no matter how dire the situation or even if the kit/pup is not one of their own.

This is a slightly altered Warrior Code rule, since we need it to ensure that if, say, somebody is being especially grumpy today and is unleashing their fury on somebody's kit/pup character, then things get interesting. Actually, it is allowed to harass a kit/pup in the roleplay, but ONLY if your harasser isn't a part of the group the kit/pup is, and there is NO KILLING, NO ACTUAL HARM, and A POINT OF LENIENCY.

Rule 7: Elders, the sick, queens and kits are fed before warriors, apprentices and anyone who is fit to hunt for themselves. No able-bodied cat is allowed to feed themselves before the weak are cared for first.

This is just so that if your cat is unable to hunt for themselves, somebody else can service them before things get really serious. No out-of-roleplay purpose, really. This does apply to the ??? Wolf Pack too, no changes to the rule.

Rule 8: A kit must have roleplayed for a while, about two weeks, give or take some time, before they can become an apprentice. This also applies to an apprentice, but the apprentice MUST HAVE HAD enough training at the paws of their mentor, which is much hunting, fighting, loyalty and herbal training.

I'm sorry that this makes things go very slowly, but its here so that we don't go too far astray from the purpose of a cat clan. This does apply to the ??? Wolf Pack too, but more loosely.

Rule 9: There is NO leaving the IceClan borders unless you have the leader's or deputy's explicit permission, regardless of the situation.

This is actually for your own good, so we don't have all of IceClan scattered in the World Beyond, and so that you don't run out of ideas for the terrain and situation. It also ensures that the clan isn't too weak if outside attack happens. This does NOT apply to the ??? Wolf Pack, however, since they're more of a loose group, and besides, it makes things more interesting for them.

Rule 10: An honorable warrior does not need to use his claws or magic to kill another cat/wolf, unless it is in self-defense or on the word of the leader or he is outside the Warrior Code.

This kind of intertwines with the other rules that are about killing/gore regulations, but it kind of sums it all up in another rule to behold. By magic, I don't mean things like lobbing fireballs, but I mean like igniting a little spark to cause a flame, or the power to grant almost any wish of another cat/wolf's every eight seasons. By word of the leader, I mean by extra characters I introduce for the simplicity of livening things up. If I give permission, THOSE you can kill. By self-defense, I mean by if a cat attacks you first WITHOUT you playing a significant role in the reason for attack, and if no other option comes up for you. And by outside the warrior code, I mean that for any cat or creature that does not follow StarClan/Silverpelt and as such does not abide by the Warrior Code, which means everyone but FireClan and IceClan.

Rule 11: A true warrior rejects the life of a kittypet or a wolf.

This is just here to stir up drama, since I'm sure SOMEBODY would want to escape IceClan, even though they're much looser and less corrupt than the clans overseas, such as ThunderClan, SkyClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and WindClan, or at least as corrupt as every IceClan warrior sees it fit. And that leads us to the next rule...

Rule 12: A true warrior also rejects following the ways of the clans overseas, no matter how appealing they may be.

This is also to stir up drama, since IceClan runs differently than the Warriors series clans. For example, IceClan is a solo clan, so they don't have any rivalries with other clans besides the ??? Wolf Pack, which means their territory is about as large as all of the Lake territories. Also, even though Ice revered the clans overseas, she did reject their ways, believing that they were too vigilant, too reliant on StarClan and prophecies, and far too corrupt even in her time.

Rule 13: Prey is to be killed just for eating use.

This is to prevent waste of food for other cats, and to also not strain everyone's hunting patrol comments to a breaking point. This means no playing with food, no killing excess food, and also leaving all food that has no present use in the Sand Pit, near the other corpses to eat.

Rule 14: After the death/retirement of the deputy, a new one has to be chosen as soon as possible.

This is to make sure there isn't a power black hole if the current deputy quits or allows him/herself to be killed in the roleplay. It's also allowing the deputy to quit/be killed if they choose to. This also regards a leader if both the leader and the deputy die at the same time, but we know that won't happen.

Rule 15: What the leader/deputy wishes is law.

This is to prevent you from not being physically present when I make announcements canonically, but I make announcements on the main page, so that's not hard to miss. But if, say, you want to do dawn patrol but I say you need to do hunting patrol, you CANNOT defy me or the deputy on that order. This part is to make sure that things run smoothly and that we don't run into arguments. You scratch our back, we'll scratch yours.

Rule 16: A true warrior does not use vulgar words or derogatory words in any way.

While "mousebrain" or "fuzzbrain" are allowed as MENTAL comments, nothing else is allowed, whether its  "mousedung", "foxdung", or a Twoleg swear word, ANYWHERE on the site.

Rule 17: The deputy becomes clan leader when the leader retires/dies.

Again, won't happen, but its just here to remind you.

Rule 18: Boundaries must be marked and checked daily. Welcome any cats you find, but be wary of their intentions.

As Ice wished, this is looser than the overseas Clan rules, and it also makes sure cats don't act overly rude to passing loners. Besides, on some games I play, the warrior cats roleplaying there are just MEAN, and I don't want that to happen to IceClan.

Rule 19: Defend IceClan, even with your life if necessary.

This is to stir up drama, again, but its also looser than the overseas clan rules, as Ice wished, because she knew that not all loyal cats were willing to sacrifice their lives for their clan, and knew that binding them that hard would only stir up resentment within IceClan.

Rule 20: When in dire need, a group of one or more cats must make a pilgrimage to the Star Pyre, and that group must be chosen by the leader or deputy.

The Star Pyre is just like the Moonstone, but more mysterious and much less protected. I or the deputy will choose what cats go to the Star Pyre for Starclan's guidance, about dire problems such as the mysterious meteor or others.

Rule 21: The StarClan of IceClan is much different and more reliable than the overseas StarClan. Do not regard it as anything else besides that.

Since IceClan lives away from the main clans, just like SkyClan does, they have their own separate branch for the dead. Ice didn't believe in the ways of old, and as so, made sure that her followers were well trained and wise to guide her descendants in the future.

Rule 22: A true warrior cat rejects being overly wary or any form of rudeness, treating every cat better than they expect to be treated, no matter how low the bar is or any other parts of their lives.

Ice believed that this rule would prevent deep corruption of IceClan. While several of her descendants did corrupt, the corruption was quickly stopped before it could take root. This rule has been one of the main principles of IceClan for many years, and has such become pivotal in the development of IceClan. Applies to everywhere on the site.

The basics of the Medicine Cat Code

Rule 1: No medicine cat may have any sort of relationship with any other cat going further besides friendship.

Rule 2: All medicine cats must treat any cat that seeks their services, no matter what the situation or cat.

Rule 3: A medicine cat must know the way to the Star Pyre, and be able to consult StarClan for omens, prophecies and guidance

Rule 4: If herbs are in short supply, a med cat has the right to send any clan cat to get more herbs, regardless of the cat or what the cat is doing.

Rule 5: A medicine cat is trained in medicinal ways, but must also be able to fight in combat if necessary.

Rule 6: The principles of a true medicine cat are that they must be loyal to their respective clan, willing to treat any cat or wolf no matter the situation, that they stock up the herb stores to their best ability, to train and appoint medicine cats at the Star Pyre when they have been trained enough, and to receive and interpret omens from StarClan for the good of their Clan.

I'll add more as I see fit, so check back on occasion!
